Maicon Garcia is a photographer and visual researcher based in Brazil. His practice investigates the intersections between identity, performance, and cultural resistance, developing a language that moves between the documentary and the experimental, with a strong poetic and sensitive dimension.
Through an authorial approach, he uses photography as a tool for listening and critical investigation of the world. His work incorporates analog techniques, such as multiple exposure and long exposure, to explore the poetics of movement, highlighting the nuances between body, gesture, memory, and invention.
He is currently developing research on the relationships between performance, photography, and the politics of representation, documenting individual and collective creative processes as forms of resistance and existential and political affirmation. His production proposes images that not only record scenarios and actions, but also evoke narratives and testimonies, marked by delicacy, temporal noise, and an ethical commitment to the other.
